Don’t call it a comeback son!

Here it is….the redesigned PDXBOX.NET gaming site.  I don’t really have anything to say as of yet…other than welcome back.  If you are reading this then you are getting to see the site as it is develops over the next week or so.

What happened to the old site…you said more functionality was coming?

I know…I know…stop clowning.  What happened was it never got finished.  We’ve been so busy working on other aspects of the business the old site didn’t get the attention it deserved.  While it looked tight…it never got to the point where it actually did much other than help us hype it up for events. Eventually the timelag caught up with us.  Now web 2.0 is here, and it’s a whole new world out there and the old website strategy just doesn’t stand up to the current standards.  So we scrapped the whole thing.

I spent much of the last month rebuilding the site from the ground up.  We gave it a new look, and added some beef to the backend as well.  I had decided that it was important to integrate Facebook into our site.  This way people can sign up, and become members of PDXBOX.NET from within the Facebook structure.  You can invite friends, enter contests, and do any number of official activities by using Facebook to create your PDXBOX.NET account.

Problem is…people now have to do their accounts all over again with the site reboot.  It’s a bummer, yes…but not the end of the world.  Come on folks…its not that bad.  It’s only two clicks, and now you don’t have to remember a new set of logins…you just use your Facebook ID.  In the meantime, it’s on and crackin for new events, new games, and the future of gaming here in Portland, Oregon.  If we, and this site, are new to you…be sure to check out the Introduction page.  As far as the old faithful contingent, I’ll post some more images later of some of our past…when I get some time. Let me get more of the site done first though.  Don’t forget to Get Involved.  We got some important things coming. Hit me up on the Contact page, or just challenge me on Xbox Live.  Did I mention mama said knock you out?  Let’s GO!!!!!
